Nel is a global, dedicated hydrogen company, delivering optimal solutions to produce, store, and distribute hydrogen from renewable energy. We serve a range of different customers with leading hydrogen technologies. Our roots date back to 1927, and since then, we have had a proud history of development and continuous improvement of hydrogen technologies. Today, our solutions cover the entire value chain: from hydrogen production technologies to hydrogen fueling stations, enabling industries to transition to green hydrogen, and providing fuel cell electric vehicles with the same fast fueling and long range as fossil-fueled vehicles – without the emissions.
Nel's technology department develops the next generation of technologies and products to support Nel's future business plans. The department has a global footprint with personnel and laboratory infrastructure in Norway, Denmark and the US. Important development areas include alkaline and PEM electrolysers and hydrogen fueling stations, both current and new technologies. Green hydrogen has been identified as one of the most important factors in supporting the reduction of CO2 emissions from traditional industry and transport. Development of new technologies and products adapted to operation with renewable energy such as wind and solar is seen as crucial to support the growth of the green hydrogen industry.
