About the position and the department

An immediate opportunity exists for a qualified candidate with demonstrated project management competences and a proven track record. The successful candidate will work directly with customers, authorities, project engineers and local service and installation teams, to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope, schedule, and budget. He or she will coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders, to ensure all aspects of each project are on track throughout the entire project timeline, from handover of the signed contract from the Sales department, to handing the finalized project over to the customer and the Service organization.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Overall Nel focal point and responsible for your specific projects.
• Deliver projects on time, on/under budget, within scope, in accordance with Nel project management systems.
• Safety and Quality in project
• Project financial controlling and invoicing.
• Risk management and limiting impacts to the project from uncontrollable issues.
• Contract management.
• Customer management.
• Manage internal and external project meetings.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Planning and hiring of external service providers. 
• Project reporting.
• Manage handover to the customer.
• Manage handover to the Service department.
• Manage Lessons Learned process.
• Reporting on key performance indicators.

Qualifications and experience

You possess relevant educational background and experience in Project Management. Experience in contract management and in project management of execution/ construction projects, related to installation and commissioning of sites, is preferred. You have a strong technical- and business-orientated mindset, curious, and can quickly identify risks and mitigate these with commercially sound solutions. You are structured and detail oriented, giving you the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in many different countries. You excel at working independently, as well as in teams and you are highly skilled in both written and spoken English. You are able to operate in an environment that reflects a maturing organization with limited defined processes and a need for seeking status inputs from stakeholders, rather than waiting/expecting statuses to come automatically. Considering the environment, you must be willing and able to support development of processes, procedures and systems that move the organization towards a best practice in industry situation.

Requirements

• Well organized and solution oriented with Project Management experience/competences and a track record to show it.
• Experience working in a commercial/industrial environment.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary technical team environment.
• Experience working in or with international organizations.
• General broad technical understanding of a complex piece of equipment with several subsystems
• Able to travel approx. 50 days per year.
• Having great coordination skills.

It will be beneficial if you:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar relevant education, with some years of experience.
• Experience with project management or engineering within the oil and gas industry, or the like, where there are high demands on safety.
• Experience with installation and commissioning work at retail Fueling sites.
• Fluent or elementary proficiency in a second language like German or French.
