About the position and the Team
An immediate opportunity exists for a qualified candidate, with demonstrated technical project management and engineering competences, as well as a proven track record. The successful candidate will, as the technical authority in the project, work directly with customers, authorities, project managers and local service and installation teams, to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope, schedule, and budget. He or she will develop technical deliverables into the project, ensure that technical interfaces are aligned and drive development of project specific technical solutions. The projects begin when handed over from the sales department and end when handing a completed site over to the customer and the service organization, after which the contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Overall responsible for technical aspects of a project.
- Configure and order project equipment.
- Screening customer requirements, codes and standards and communicate such requirements to other Nel entities.
- Support sales during bidding process with technical input and concepts for project and product customization.
- Specification of non-standard solutions and required application technology in adjustment with the engineering team in Denmark.
- Lead and participate in site related risk assessments.
- Create site layout, technical specifications, datasheets, drawings.
- Responsible for dispenser pipe design and ordering.
- Create site- and permitting documentation, for installation and commissioning of standard products, as well as for customized solutions.
- Responsible for developing customer specific documentation packages (e.g., to satisfy local compliance requirements).
- Lead the equipment certification processes (e.g., PED certification process).
- Attend customer meetings to provide input/answers to technical questions & requests.
- Attend internal meetings to present and prep. Technicians to carry out Installation and Commissioning activities.
- Support the project team on technical matters related to site construction work.
- Responsible for closing out project technical requirements.
- Support to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Lead technical aspects of project Change Orders.
- Develop handover to Service and operations documentation packages.
- Review of role relevant documentation as part of Review/Approval process in the Document Management System
Professional Qualifications
You possess relevant educational background and preferably have experience being the technical authority, in site execution type projects. You have a strong technical- and business-orientated mindset, curious, and can quickly identify technical risks and mitigate these with commercially sound solutions. You are structured and detail oriented, giving you the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, in different countries. You excel at working independently, as well as in teams and you are highly skilled in both written and spoken English. You can operate in an environment that reflects a maturing organization with limited defined processes and a need for seeking status inputs from stakeholders, rather than waiting/expecting statuses to come automatically. Considering the environment, you must be willing and able to support development of processes, procedures and systems that move the organization towards a best practice in industry situation.
Other competencies and personal skills
- Mechanical-/Electrical/Naval engineer.
- Broad/good technical understanding.
- Good knowledge in structured writing of procedures and instructions for field installations.
- Proficient with MS office, CAD program utilization skill.
- “Hands-on” mentality.
- Communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
- Strong in structure and discipline
