About the position and the department
Safety is the most important issue for Nel and as our CEO states when addressing the organization: ‘Safety is the top priority at Nel. It is essential to ensure that we all return home safely from work every day!’
As the Safety Manager you will support HSE both in the offices as well as in the production areas and on-site. You will not have the direct management responsibility for the employees in HSE, but you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the HSE processes globally, specifically in California and South Korea.
The position is based in our Head Office in Lind, Herning.
Main responsibilities
You should expect to focus on:
- Develop, implement, and maintain occupational safety policies, procedures and practices that comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Facilitate the process which ensures all personnel at the site receive the necessary training to carry out their duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Conduct risk assessments on occupational safety and develop mitigation plans to reduce and manage hazards.
- Ensure that appropriate safety equipment and protective gear are utilized as necessary.
- Coordinate and conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify and correct deficiencies.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure all personnel are prepared in the event of an emergency.
- Work closely with site leadership to develop and implement environmental programs that support the company's sustainability objectives.
- Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and analysis, and support implementation of corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
Professional skills
You possess a relevant educational background at least on bachelor’s level. On top of that you hold:
- Several years of proven experience in HSE management in e.g., the Process-, Wind or other industries where work is performed On-site.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Relevant HSE certifications, such as OSHA or ISO45001, are preferred.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to priorities and develop the strategy to move the business.
Travels
You should expect Max. 30 days of travel per year.
