Nel's technology department is now hiring. We are looking for highly motivated employees to grow the team. You will play an important role in the development activities and be a part of the team realizing the Nel R&D goals. The position reports to Technology Director at Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser.
Scientific Assistant
Your most important responsibilities and tasks will be:
- Support in R&D activities and be an active contributor within the R&D team, such as:
Apply and create RFPs related to external grants and financing for research and development projects
Project progress/management
Documentation
Project finance
Reporting
Monitoring and follow-up
- Support the work in establishing future technology and assets costs, specifically CAPEX- and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) estimates
- Support budget developments
- Maintain and expand the scientific literature archive with relevant research
- Support with tasks related to intellectual property rights and patents in collaboration with the legal department
- Manage and follow-up vendors
Preferred educational background and professional experience:
- Higher education, preferably technical. Alternatively, within economics, finance or administration
- Good technical and analytical skills, and experience working in a team setting
- IT knowledgeable with technical competency
- Experience from a fast-paced working environment with the ability to shift gears and focus depending on the different work assignments and demands, is an advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with English and Norwegian languages, both written and oral
We are open to evaluate candidates with shorter work experience (i.e., those at the start of their careers)

Work place: Main location will be Notodden/Herøya, but other locations can be assessed specifically
