Procurement Manager
Nel is today running the world’s first fully automated electrode production line at Herøya, producing 500GW of electrodes. The hydrogen market is developing rapidly and Nel is now increasing its capacity to meet the needs of the market. Nel is currently building its second production line of 500GW and is planning to expand even further to become the marked leader in producing electrodes.
Procurement Manager
We are searching for a team-oriented and motivated Procurement Manager to strengthen our Supply Chain department. The Procurement Manager will be focusing on strategic sourcing, vendor management and purchasing mainly for the factory expansion at Herøya. The position is a key role for enabling Nel to continue growth and success in the hydrogen industry and reports to the Supply Chain Director.
Main place of work will be at Herøya, Porsgrunn, but other locations (Oslo or Notodden) can be assessed specifically.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Negotiate and secure supplier agreements for major investment projects
- Actively participate in sourcing processes for further development of the company's existing value chain
- Establish procurement plans and strategies for current projects
- Responsibility for ordering and following up deliveries of materials and services for development, projects and the company in general
- Handle operational procurement work with follow-up of deliveries
- Establish framework agreements to secure supply, quality and reduce costs
- Maintain contact with suppliers to follow up on relevant supplier KPIs
- Invoice processing and other administrative tasks
- Collaborate with other departments internally and represent Nel in a professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy way externally
Key qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in logistics, economics, procurement, engineering, or similar
- Minimum 7 years’ procurement/sourcing experience, preferably from an industrial setting
- Experience from a project-oriented environment would be an advantage
- Thorough understanding of sourcing and procurement strategies, complex agreements, and negotiations
- Must have a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while producing results
- Experience from cross-functional international environments is a plus
- Proficiency in English is required, both written and spoken
