Contract Manager - Strategic Suppliers
Nel is experiencing substantial growth and we are now searching for a motivated and experienced Contract Manager to strengthen our Contracts and Procurement department. The person we are looking for will work with our strategic suppliers and our growing portfolio of global projects, enabling Nel to continue growth and success within the hydrogen industry.
The Contract Manager reports to the VP Contract and Procurement Management and the position is located at Skøyen, Oslo.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Establish and execute the sourcing and contracting process for strategic suppliers in compliance with Nel’s policies and governance process
- Develop strategies for long-term engagement of the supplier market, incorporating Nel’s growth plans, market-capacity considerations, local regulations, local content requirements, tax-regulations, etc.
- Manage tender processes and secure active involvement of relevant disciplines.
- Negotiate contracts / frame agreements and finalise recommendations for approval.
- Develop and implement a strategic supplier relationship management program, including KPI’s / supplier development. Monitor and manage contracts during execution
- Pro-active management of contract risk and opportunities
- Ensure proactive handling of corporate social responsibility, business ethics and health, safety and environment
- Contribute to the further development of procedures and best practices in the department and across multidisciplinary delivery/project teams
Key qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or law with contract management and/or legal experience. Master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in procurement contract management with a strong emphasis on equipment delivery projects (experience within construction, mechanical or industrial engineering sector would be an advantage)
- Thorough understanding of contract and procurement strategies, complex agreements, negotiations and contract formation, performance issues and contract closeouts
- Highly proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and possess excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills
- Willingness to work across geographies and time zones
- Fluent in written and spoken English
