Are you detail-oriented and passionate about engineering and compliance? Nel Hydrogen is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our Product Safety Engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with technical files, international compliance, and product safety for industry-leading hydrogen production systems.

About the Role

As a Summer Intern, you will support the Product Safety Engineering team in ensuring compliance, improving documentation, and aligning products with international standards. Your work will directly impact product safety and market readiness for key Nel Hydrogen products, including industrial gas and megawatt systems.

Key Focus Areas:
✅ Complete Technical Files for the following products:

• Industrial Gas: S Series, H Series, C Series
• Megawatt: M Series 2, PSM

✅ Support compliance efforts for countries outside standard certifications, for example:

• Australia
• Oman
• Malaysia

✅ Improve compliance with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) requirements
✅ Develop sales and application documentation

Specific Tasks:

• Develop requirements checklists for critical components identified in the Technical Files
• Review critical components to ensure they meet requirements
• Review and update SFM1082 against M Series CDFs
• Collect and consolidate PED action items and recommendations from previous reviews and audits
• Create PED Particular Material Appraisals (PMAs) for materials used in vessels and pressure equipment
• Write a gap analysis for the C Series of Australian codes vs. North American and European codes
• Research codes & standards for Oman and Malaysia and create a gap analysis for 100MW systems
• Create a list of applicable codes & standards for products and components based on Declarations of Conformity (DoCs)
