Electromechanical Technician
An immediate opportunity exists for an Instrumentation Technician to work in an exciting team environment within the Engineering Department of Nel Hydrogen. This position will require working closely with cross-functional teams to install, calibrate, maintain, inspect and repair mechanical and electronic devices, sensors, and equipment. Projects range from test stand maintenance, mechanical build and electrical wiring of sub-assemblies/systems, executing test plans, and collecting/summarizing test data. This role will be full-time onsite in Wallingford, CT.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Install and calibrate technologies and equipment and training team members on operation and safety instructions
- Maintain equipment regularly by adjusting system components and testing functionalities.
- Inspect and troubleshoot test equipment for issues and repairing or replacing defective parts asneeded
- Ensure test stations remain in good working order with focus on preventative maintenance and upgrade requirements.
- Use scientific and analytic computer software to diagnose faults in machines or applications.
- Research new industry instrumentation and study details and instructions to install and use it properly
- Collaborate with electronic engineers, process technicians and other plant professionals to design equipment.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, work orders or other instructions to build up test hardware.
- Be able to read and understand electrical schematics and specifications to determine wiring and assembly sequences of test hardware.
- Experience working in a commercial / industrial product development environment is preferred.
- Attention to detail.
- Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Motivated self-starter with a high level of initiative
- Manual dexterity
- Written and oral communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Interest in researching new industry advancements.
- Familiarity with Siemens controls is a plus.
