About the Role

As a Summer Intern, you will support the engineering of novel membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) architecture and electrochemical cell testing through process evaluation and material preparation. You will work closely with Nel engineers to refine process conditions and contribute to the development of a cost-reduced MEAs for use in our products. Additionally, you will help test and assess the MEA samples from project partners, providing valuable insights into material performance and operational stability.

Background and Key Potential Focus Areas:

• Undergrad / Graduate within Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar
• Identify fabrication parameters for electrode and other MEA materials
• Conduct characterization studies to evaluate material compatibility
• Perform in-situ operational tests for the fabricated MEAs
• Carry out bench chemical and mechanical characterization measurements

Desired Competencies:

• Experience with Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
• Hands-on experience with electrochemical devices
• Strong test planning and data presentation skills
