Helpdesk Technician
You will be a part of a skilled team of IT professionals in Norway and the US and work closely with the other internal and external stakeholders and vendors. The Helpdesk Technician will be based full-time in Wallingford, CT.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the installation, upgrade, repair, movement, and replacement of desktop PCs, laptops, and peripherals
- Perform basic troubleshooting and service of office printers, both local and networked
- Must be able to configure, workstations, docking stations, printers, monitors, hardware, VoIP/VoSIP telephones, Audio/Video controls
- Be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, mobile devices, or software
- Provide Tier I and II IT troubleshooting services such as, maintaining, installing, repairing and modifying computers/mobile devices and their associated business software
- Support a hybrid and distributed workforce using VPN and cloud platforms.
- Provide technical resolution for internally reported issues on production and development systems
- Contribute to ongoing infrastructure and software development projects
- Assist cutting-edge research and development initiatives including integration and customization of our manufacturing and engineering applications with emerging frameworks and platforms
- Support systems involved in deployment, testing and production environments
- Researches, resolves, responds to, and documents end user inquiries
Educational & Professional Experience
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a helpdesk or desktop support technician with 1-2 years of experience.
- Plan and manage the installation, configuration, and upgrade of business software applications, both networked and local
- Setup and test A/V (Video Conferencing) equipment for all meetings and functions as requested
- Proven experience in supporting IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud with basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
- Basic knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server)
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Teams
